South Africa summer/winter...

Following the success of the ‘FreeRide Project’ Movie that we produced at the end of 2011 after full years riding, we have decided to start work on the FreeRide Project 2. We kicked off 2013 in Cape Town, South Africa spending the season over there getting some riding in and re-connecting with the crew! (Hadlow, Court, Light and Boulding). The FRP2 will span the globe following the UKcrew riders Aaron Hadlow, Tom Court, Sam Light and James Boulding. We will hit some different countries, new locations and ride with the local crew’s wherever we go…expect to see some action from more riders in this movie!!

Finnishing the 2011 Movie project

Right so the last push to get the Movie project and idea for a DVD and make it a reality. I have just finished interviewing the boyz, got some good stuff to string our trips together with and busy on the cutting table to make it look right. So, it should be out shortly…watch this space. A few weeks…

I have just got back home to the UK and saw today that the invited riders list for the Triple-S has gone up. Stoked to get another invite along side some of the best in the sport and am looking forward to some solid riding at this years event! Other planed trips for me this year include the Ro-Sham Jam in Hood River and the WONW event in the Philippines. Also some PKRA’s in-between maybe…

Time at Home

So after what seems like a long stint on the road, hitting different events and spending only a few weeks in each place. I have had some time to come back home in the UK and spend a bit of time. Getting some of the UK Spring conditions, big southerly swell coming into just outside my house. A few really cold days, getting in the sea at about -5, but its starting to warm up again. I won’t be home for long though, next i have a trip planned to Peru to kite on the Titicaca (http://www.laketiticaca.org/ ) and find some of the endless lefts that grace the coastline.

Also recently I have been filming a lot more, testing my self and trying some new things. Making a few local music videos and branching out into other fields of editing. 1st rail contest Dominican Republic

After the WONW event in the Philippines, I came back to Europe with a good start to 2012 in mind. I headed out to Fuerteventura and scored some killer swell and then headed straight to the Dominican Republic for the Kite Fest, hosted down in the south of the island at Punta Cana. A new kite school is opening and the event and contest was hosted to open the school. I was stoked to take a 1st in the Slider/Kicker event and a 5th in the freestyle. The local rider where ripping, Cameron Dietrich, Ned Taylor and other riders from all over the world where there, good times!

3rd/1st at the international WONW Kite/Wake Jam, Philippines

The last few weeks I have been traveling around the philippines with Aaron Hadlow and Sam Light. We went to Boracay to film some kiting and check it out before going to the Wind or No Wind (WONW) that is held at the CWC water sports complex in Camsur.

It was awesome to be back there again to ride in the event, see some of the best riders out there hitting cable, boat and all hanging together, it was a good vibe. The contest side of things went well for me, I came 3rd over all along side Sam Light (2nd) and Aaron Hadlow (1st) and also a 1st along side Brandon Sheid for the GoPro video challenge.

Kite Camp in the Philippines!

Right, so my next stop is out in the Philippines for the WONW board Jam at the CWC Cable park. This is a bench mark event that brings the end of my competitive season and its a great place to have it! After the event, I will then be going to Boracay to host a ‘Kiteloop’ contest and training camp. It will be a fun event with kites to win and boards to give away for the participants….so if you fancy getting away this winter, head to the Philippines and I will see you in Boracay!

Filming

So for the last few weeks I have been doing a lot of filming projects. Working towards producing a feature length movie at the end of the year or the begging of 2012.

Last week I was in berlin filming some product stuff for an up and coming company called GYBE. As there was no wind, I didn’t get to go further north in Germany to test some of the new 2013 kites. Hopefully I will be doing some more testing soon however…
